- Why is the finished work of Christ on the cross considered impractical by the world? Why do we see it as practical? (1 Cor. 1:18-31)
Discussion/Application Questions
- Read Proverbs 6:1-19...
- In the first five verses, we see the father urging his son to be wise with his finances...What does it mean to “put up security” for your neighbor? Where can or has this gone wrong in your life? Why is this wisdom necessary as we make disciples who make disciples?
- In verses 6-11, the ant is contrasted with the sluggard...What are some characteristics of a sluggard? How may these ways of life play out in yours?
- Verses 12-19 address discord amongst community...What are some characteristics of the sower of discord from this passage? What are ways this can happen in a church or Missional Community? What aspects of the gospel message prevent this from happening? What aspects of the gospel message empower forgiveness when it does happen?
