Downtown Missional Communities

In determining which group to attend, consider where they meet, when they meet, and where they serve. You are free to show up on a given night to participate in dinner and discussion, but it is wise to call ahead to ensure they are meeting and not serving.

If you would like any more information regarding life in Missional Community, email connect@rivercityfargo.org.

NORTH MOORHEAD

stordahl
Hello! We are Tom & Andrea Stordahl and we have been leading this Missional Community since January of 2018, but our group has been around for a while! We truly believe that being in community with other believers, discussing life with one another is vital in your walk with Christ. We hope to see you on Tuesday nights when we share a meal with one another and open up God's word and discuss the sermon from Sunday. The first Tuesday of the month we get the opportunity to serve the homeless community at an awesome ministry called Open Door 65.

SOUTH MOORHEAD

Norstedt.JPGHello! We are Jody and Amy Norstedt and we have been members of River City since January of 2016. We have lead a Missional Community since May of 2016, meeting on Sunday nights in south Moorhead. God's Word informes our care and love for one antother. Whether it’s lifting each other up in times of struggle and pointing them toward Christ or celebrating the work of our great God, we are there for one another. We serve once a month at the International Potluck, an event focused on bringing the community together through shared food and stories from different cultures.

NewhouseWe are Jordan and Hannah and we have 2 kids, Henry(3) and Harlan(1.5) and live in Sabin. We lead this Missional Community along with Jen Astrup who lives in North Fargo with her 2 roommates and her sweet dog Josie. Together we work to serve the men and women of our MC and the F/M community. We are a group of believers who seek to build a genuine community based upon the foundation of Christ. Though we come from different walks of life, we share a solid bond through the person and work of Jesus. Each week we share a meal together followed by a discussion rooted in the gospel. We meet in south Moorhead at the home of Ryan and Amy Bro.

Eidsmoe.JPGWe are Bernt and Erin Eidsmoe, sinners saved by grace so that none of us may boast and thirsting to grow in Christlikeness. Come join our rag-tag group for a meal and to dive into Scripture seeing how the gospel is applied to our lives. In doing so, we support each other and get into honest community. Each month, we serve families of children with autism in various ways. We always have room for more so please join us!

Devin and Betsy Hiller

Hello!  We are Devin and Betsy Hiller.  Devin is on staff at River City as the Church Planting Resident and we have been at River City since July 2017.  We believe that devoted community is integral for everyone.  Our goal is to build our community around our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in our relationships and our outreach.  We meet at Bruce and Elisa Maul’s home on Wednesday evenings where we share a meal together and discuss the sermon from the previous Sunday.  The third Sunday of every month we lead the chapel service and spend time with the folks at the Pioneer House and Elim Care Center.  If you are interested, we would love for you to join our Missional Community!

imageHello! My name is Garrett Gransee and I’ve been attending River City Church since the summer of 2015.  I lead our Missional Community, which launched October 2017, in discussion while the families of Andrew & Joanna Rockhold and Tim and Cathi Friesen lead in hosting and welcoming myself and others into their homes on Wednesday nights @ 6pm and 6:45pm (respectively) in south Moorhead.  At MC, we share a meal together, our lives together, and the Word of God together as we look to add to our faith, goodness…,godliness…and love (2nd Peter 1: 5-7) for Him, for one another, and the people we interact with on a daily basis.

We’re excited to see how the people in our MC will grow in their faith and knowledge in Christ and the application of the gospel in our lives as we do life together as a family and as contributing members of service in God’s church and our F-M community.  We desire to be a place where we can love and disciple one another through conviction and comfort from God’s word and to offer hope to others that are in need.

If you are interested in being a part of our MC or have more questions feel free to contact myself via text/phone call or just come stop by.  We’d love to get to know you and welcome you to other events that we do together such as bowling, caroling, parade watching, etc.  Ultimately, we hope you can find an MC that works best for you as you look to grow in your walk with Christ.  Blessings!

NORTH FARGO

Doeden2.JPGWe are Andy & Katie Doeden and we've been attending River City since June of 2015 and began leading a Missional Community in January of 2017. Our family considers it a joy to host MC on Monday nights, seeing it as a great place to practice the 'one anothers' of the Bible. We care for one another, encourage each other, equip and build one another up, and bear each other's burdens to name a few. We pray all of this is done on the foundation of the gospel, with our focus on Jesus Christ, rooted in the Bible.

We serve at the Salvation Army on the 3rd Sunday of every month, taking the following Monday off. Please join us for a meal, Biblical truth, and prayer!

SOUTH FARGO

Pedersons.JPGWe are Steve and Kami Pederson, parents to Alivia, Riley, and Evelyn.  We host and lead a group in our home on Monday nights starting at 6PM.  Our group gathers weekly to share a meal, discuss God's word, encourage and sharpen each other and through God's grace, equip each of us to better engage with our neighbors, coworkers, and friends to bring glory to Jesus. We have been involved in MC life for several years now, and greatly value the relationships that have developed from this. Please give us a call or catch us on a Sunday morning at River City downtown if you are interested in catching a glimpse of what Missional Community life is like!

Larson.JPGWe are Brock and Katie Larson. We host and lead our MC in downtown Fargo. We appreciate the opportunity this gives us to welcome others into what it is to live together as believers. Our group consists mainly of younger adults, married, engaged, dating, and college-aged singles. We are open to and would love the variety of having older adults or families with children join us. All are welcome, as we gather together to share a meal with one another and then discuss our thoughts on God's word. We do this with an aim to grow our love for Him. We depend on Christ as we learn how to better care for one another, and what it looks like for that to overflow to our community. We currently volunteer the first Wednesday evening of the month at Luther Hall where we spend our time serving the youth who live there.

Puckett2We are Andrew, MacKenzie, and Atticus, and we are excited to lead this group meeting on Wednesday nights at 6:15.  When you come you will find a welcoming environment where we can laugh, discuss and be real with one another.  We serve at the Salvation Army every month and work with the kids there serving supper, giving a devotional and playing games with them afterward.

MC life is vital to the life of the church because this is where the ground level, real life work is done.  We take the sermon from a 5000 foot level and apply it to our own lives.  It is a place where people are able to share their struggles both in life and with sin as well as share the areas of rejoicing so that we might live life with each other.  Our MC works hard to have a strong focus on reading the word, prayer and relationships.

Joraanstads.JPGWe are Nathan and Morgan, and we have been involved at River City for over 5 years. We host and lead an MC in our home on Monday nights at 6pm. Our group consists of families with multiple kids, recently married couples, and singles. All our welcome to join us! We see Missional Community as vital to our growth as believers, having friends to hold us accountable and point us to the Truths of Scripture. Christ desires that we live in fellowship with one another, doing life together as we live in devotion to Him.

Our group takes the first Monday of each month off so that each family can help out in the community or reach out to those we cross paths with. We have a small dog who is very friendly and would love to meet new people, so feel free to stop by!

EasterEggHunt2018-74

We are Ty and Elisha Ford. We've been attending River City since 2014 and being involved with various Missional Communities over the years has been the single best way we've found to get connected with others at River City. We're excited to lead this MC in collaboration with Andrew and Kathryn Nyhus and present the opportunity to find a meaningful community to those seeking it out in our local church.
Our group is focused on digging deep into God's word and learning more about how the gospel of Christ impacts our lives. We hope and pray that this can happen in a safe and open environment as we welcome a diversity of people, life experiences, and perspectives into our gathering.
If you are interested in checking out our MC to see if its a good fit for you, feel free to email connect@rivercityfargo.org if you have any questions. We look forward to getting to know you!
