Part of our mission (link to “mission” page) is for the good of our city extending grace to others in Jesus’ name. River City is committed to making an impact in various places of need, and we do this primarily through our Missional Communities. Each MC finds places to serve. Here are some of the areas in which we are connected locally:
Cru - Steven & Britta Skalman serve with Cru in the Fargo-Moorhead community. Steven helps lead the local team as they lead Christ-centered movements at NDSU, MSUM, and Concordia.
Navigators - Matt Kinnick, along with his wife Lindsay, serves as the campus director of Navigators at North Dakota State University.
Partnerships with MCs:
Pink House - Intervarsity is building bridges to International students at NDSU. The Pink House, has become a hub for connection for many students away from home. We have been able to help serve a meal. build relationships, and engage in Spiritual conversations.
New Life Center - The New Life Center is Fargo’s oldest and largest rescue mission whose purpose and pledge is to serve homeless and needy people through a program of spiritual, physical, material and emotional assistance coupled with education and public awareness.
YWCA - The Cass County YWCA serves as an emergency shelter for women and children in Crisis, provide education and employment services, and help with transitional housing. We have been able to serve the women and children in our YWCA by hosting monthly Birthday parties for children and moms and work to build relationships with families in need.
